Serán Bioscience Secures Growth Investment from Biospring Partners to Accelerate Commercial Expansion
Bend, OR-based contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) Serán Bioscience has announced a fresh growth investment led by Biospring Partners, bolstered by continued backing from existing financial partners Vivo Capital, Bain Capital Life Sciences, and members of Serán’s executive leadership team.
The strategic capital injection is designed to fast-track Serán’s evolution from a clinical-stage specialist into a fully integrated end-to-end commercial partner. The funding directly supports the ongoing construction of the company’s greenfield commercial manufacturing facility in Bend, which remains on schedule for completion in the third quarter of 2027.
Once operational, the purpose-built, multi-suite facility will expand Serán’s footprint to more than 200,000 square feet across an integrated campus. Designed to meet high-containment OEB4 specifications, the site will house commercial-scale particle engineering technologies—including advanced spray drying and nano-milling—tailored for oral, pulmonary, and alternative delivery routes.
Furthermore, the new plant integrates comprehensive finished dose capabilities, featuring granulation, tableting, film coating, encapsulation, and specialized dry powder filling for inhalation therapies spanning immediate and modified-release profiles. This facility directly complements Serán’s recently finalized packaging and logistics center, which provides serialization, labeling, and global cold-chain distribution support.
