Micropore Appoints Insung Chroma-Tech Co as Korean Distributor

UK-based particle engineering specialist Micropore Technologies has just announced the appointment of Insung Chroma-Tech Co. as the distributor for its patented membrane technology in the Korean market.

Founded in 1982, Insung Chroma-Tech has been supplying scientific instrumentation in the Korean market for over 40 years.  With its focus on supplying “best-in-class technology” and “customer satisfaction,” Insung is recognized as one of the top equipment suppliers by academics, research institutes, and industries in Korea.

UK headquartered Micropore Technologies offers a range of patented AXF (advanced crossflow) micro-mixing and encapsulation devices from lab-based experimentation units delivering sample sizes as low as 200 μL and going all the way up to full-scale GMP commercial manufacturing systems capable of delivering the highest quality, nanomedicines, microspheres, emulsions at up to 1,500L/hr.

All of Micropore’s membrane-based devices use the same gentle, low shear conditions, mechanism, and geometry, making scale-up from discovery to the development, testing and manufacture of complex lipid nanoparticle and liposome based vaccines and gene therapies simple and seamless.

“We are excited to work with Micropore. The elegance of their technology is that it uses tubular membranes with no moving parts employing very low shear forces effectively protecting sensitive ingredients from processing damage. This significantly reduces both processing energy and production wastage delivering significant savings to users” commented Chang Hoon Yoon from Insung Chroma-Tech.

Dai Hayward, CEO of Micropore, said “We are delighted to partner with Insung in the dynamic Korean market. They bring a wealth of expertise and knowledge, and we look forward to making real inroads into the rapidly expanding Korean pharmaceutical sector with them.”

Micropore’s patented encapsulation technology originated in the department of chemical engineering at Loughborough University. Dr Marijana Dragosavac Senior Lecturer and Undergraduate Admissions Tutor at Chemical Engineering department at Loughborough and Micropore’s Chief Scientific Officer has published many papers in the field. Micropore Technologies Limited was established over 10 years ago as a high-technology spin-out of Loughborough University and is a solutions provider commercializing products and technology based on its patented encapsulation and emulsification processes.
