Currier has adopted a new name, Alentra, as the company expands its role in contract development and manufacturing across the healthcare and life sciences industries. The rebrand reflects the company’s evolution from a plastics component manufacturer into a full-service contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) serving medical device, pharmaceutical, diagnostic, and consumer markets. Its services span product design, prototyping, and development, along with manufacturing scale-up, commercial-scale component production, and finished device assembly.
According to the company, the Alentra identity brings together capabilities established through a series of acquisitions over the past year. Currier acquired California-based Springboard Manufacturing and MOS Plastics in December 2025, followed by Massachusetts-based Sage Product Development in August 2026.
“These additions have allowed us to combine development, engineering, and manufacturing expertise under one organization,” says Andrew McLean, CEO of Alentra. He notes that the new brand reflects the company’s expanded capabilities across the product lifecycle.
The integrated model is intended to help customers navigate the transition from early-stage product development to commercial manufacturing through a single provider. By consolidating design, engineering, and production capabilities, Alentra aims to simplify development processes while supporting quality and manufacturing consistency.
The company’s new visual identity features a flowing wave, which represents the progression from initial product design through manufacturing and final assembly. McLean said the rebrand also reflects the company’s focus on improving speed, precision, and customer confidence as it integrates its recently acquired businesses.
