Thrive Bioscience Start-Up Now Open for Business
Thrive Bioscience, Inc., a spinoff of successful Beverly firm, Sage Science, Inc., recently announced it will open its doors at 500 Cummings Center, Suite 3150 this month. The start-up firm will occupy 7,500 square feet of lab, production, and office space.
Founded by entrepreneurs and life sciences veterans Gary Paul Magnant, Thomas Forest Farb, and Dr. Alan P. Blanchard, Thrive Bioscience will create analytical and automation technology for the life sciences industry.
Mr. Magnant, Thrive Bioscience CEO and President, is a former long-time Trustee and Chairperson of the Stoneridge Children’s Montessori School in Beverly, and Co-founder and Current Advisor to the Life Science Consortium of the North Shore.
He also co-founded and, until this past May, served as CEO of Sage Science, which expanded its space at Cummings Center earlier this summer. Mr. Magnant continues to serve on the Board of Directors of Sage Science.
“My experience with Cummings Center made the decision of where to locate our new headquarters, research center, and production facility an easy one,” Magnant said. “The campus is beautiful, the amenities are very convenient, and we take great comfort in knowing that our real estate needs will always be met as we grow, which is critical for an early stage company like ours.”
Cummings Center Senior Account Manager Mike Farrell worked with Mr. Farb and tenant representative Kenneth Shaffer of the Shaffer Company on the lease.
“Thrive Bioscience is an excellent addition to the growing life sciences presence at Cummings Properties,” he said. “There is no greater compliment and endorsement than when an entrepreneur like Gary becomes a repeat client. We are honored that he and his partners have chosen to locate their newest venture at Cummings Center.”
Currently, Cummings Center leases more than 400,000 square feet to nearly 50 life sciences firms, and it is part of the biotech cluster making headlines nationwide. Essex County, where Cummings Center is located, is among the top 15 counties in the country for biotechnology research and development jobs, according to a recent industry report from the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council.
Thrive Bioscience’s founders and leadership are an experienced team of industry leaders with successful track records for developing new lab instrumentation from concept through commercialization. They are building a global investor, strategic partner, and customer base, and plan to manufacture components in multiple locations worldwide. For more information, visit www.thrivebio.com.
