Systech Introduces Integrated Systems to Streamline Pharmaceutical Packaging and Track-and-Trace Operations
Key Points
- Systech launched two new packaging systems — the ST15S Semi-Automated Serialization and Aggregation Station and the ST16P Multi-Aggregation and Automated Label Print & Apply Station — both integrating packaging functions with the company's UniSeries software.
- The systems combine serialization, aggregation, labeling, and rework in compact platforms designed to help pharmaceutical manufacturers automate packaging tasks while meeting serialization and traceability requirements.
- The launch targets operational challenges including limited labor availability, space constraints, and the need to maintain regulatory compliance while increasing output.
Systech has introduced two packaging systems designed to help pharmaceutical manufacturers and CDMOs improve production efficiency, automate key packaging tasks, and meet serialization and traceability requirements. The new ST15S Semi-Automated Serialization and Aggregation Station and ST16P Multi-Aggregation and Automated Label Print & Apply Station integrate packaging functions with Systech’s UniSeries software. The systems combine serialization, aggregation, labeling, and rework capabilities in compact platforms intended to fit into existing production environments. Systech, part of Markem-Imaje and Dover, developed the systems to address operational challenges facing pharmaceutical packaging teams, including limited labor availability, space constraints, and the need to maintain regulatory compliance while increasing output.
“Packaging operations today are under constant pressure to increase output, maintain compliance and do more with constrained labor and facility resources,”
says Steve Engdahl, vice president of product at Systech. He said the new equipment is designed to automate essential packaging activities while simplifying workflows and reducing manual handling.
The ST15S brings several functions into a single workstation, including semi-automated serialization, manual case aggregation, pallet aggregation, and rework. Tasks that might otherwise require separate stations for printing, inspection, aggregation, and rework can be managed through one system interface. Consolidating these activities is intended to reduce operator handoffs and simplify packaging operations. The ST16P focuses on aggregation and labeling. Its design combines semi-automated pack-by-layer aggregation with automated label printing and application. By bringing these processes together, the system is intended to reduce manual intervention, improve labeling consistency, and support more efficient aggregation workflows. Both systems are designed to integrate into existing packaging lines, including production environments using third-party equipment.
