Biomapas has acquired Pinnaxis, a pharmacovigilance technology and consulting company based in Noida, India, in a move aimed at expanding its drug safety technology capabilities, strengthening its U.S. presence and advancing its integrated life sciences services business. Pinnaxis specializes in the implementation, upgrading and validation of safety systems, as well as data migration, system integration, reporting, analytics and managed services. Its technical expertise spans major pharmacovigilance platforms, including Veeva Safety Vault, Oracle Argus and ArisGlobal. The acquisition adds more than 100 technical experts to Biomapas and brings a portfolio of proprietary tools designed to support safety data migration, reporting and automated case intake. Pinnaxis also maintains established relationships with safety database providers, adding further depth to Biomapas’ technology capabilities.
Following the acquisition, Pinnaxis will lead Biomapas’ Consulting & Digital business unit. The team will focus on incorporating technology and innovation across the company’s services, including broader applications of automation and artificial intelligence in pharmacovigilance operations. According to the companies, the deal addresses the growing need for technology-enabled approaches to drug safety management as life sciences companies navigate increasingly complex regulatory requirements and product lifecycles.
“Pinnaxis brings deep expertise in the technology behind drug safety, strengthening our ability to connect specialist services with the systems that support them,” says Xavier Duburcq, CEO of Biomapas. He adds that the combined organization will draw on its regulatory, safety and clinical expertise to help clients address evolving requirements through a combination of scientific knowledge and technology.
Duburcq says the acquisition supports Biomapas’ broader strategy of building an integrated, digitally enabled partner for regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance and product development. The companies plan to operate as one organization, bringing together teams across disciplines and geographies while maintaining their existing client relationships and quality standards.
Pinnaxis also brings an established client base in the United States and an office in New Jersey, providing Biomapas with an additional foothold in the North American market. For Pinnaxis, joining Biomapas creates opportunities to extend its technology services to a broader international client base, particularly in Europe and other markets where Biomapas operates.
“Joining Biomapas is a major strategic move for Pinnaxis, our team and our clients,” says Nishant Rana, founder and CEO of Pinnaxis. He notes that integration into a broader life sciences services organization will allow the company to expand its reach and offer clients a wider range of capabilities beyond technology services alone. Rana also points to opportunities for employees to work alongside colleagues with complementary expertise and contribute to an expanded portfolio of services.
The acquisition is the latest step in Biomapas’ expansion strategy under majority shareholder Carbyne Equity Partners, which has backed the company since October 2024 with the goal of developing a global, integrated life sciences services platform. Biomapas acquired Delta PV in 2025, and the addition of Pinnaxis further broadens the group’s capabilities by introducing a dedicated pharmacovigilance technology business. By combining technology implementation and engineering expertise with its existing regulatory, safety and clinical services, Biomapas aims to provide pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies with more connected support across the product development lifecycle.
